#impacteagleriver

This fall our church, ACF Church, again coordinated Impact Eagle River. A day where we go out and serve the community, "Showing God's love in a practical way".

This year, our life group volunteered to tear down a chain link fence and build a new cedar fence for a family in Eagle River.

It was a great day serving the community and doing it with our closest friends!

Back in Eagle River!

This summer we found our dream house on the market and decided to try to sell our house and go for our dream. Seven days later, our house had sold! So.. just a few weeks after that we packed up our first house in Chugiak and moved into Eagle River.

It was a whirlwind month, especially since we moved three days after I returned from a weekend trip to New York for my cousin's wedding. Now we are in a great home in Eagle River, with a bit more square footage.

Our fantastic life group helped us move, and we had a blast while doing it!

Sunny Washington

After an amazing few days in sunny, hot Seattle watching the Braves, we headed out to Whidbey Island for a day.

On the way there we stopped and took in the views at Deception Pass.

The next day we headed over to Port Townsend, for lunch.

It was a great few days to get away from work and enjoy the sun and hot weather!

Atlanta Braves in Seattle

The first week of August the Atlanta Braves came to Seattle and played the Mariners in a two-game series - so we flew down for the week to watch them play!

Before the games we spent some time with our fellow Braves fans Emily and John playing tourist at Pike Place Market!

Unfortunately we lost both games, but we had a great time cheering on the Braves in hot, sunny Seattle!

It was a great few days with our awesome friends!!!!!

Kayaking Eklutna Lake

This Fourth of July weekend has been full of trips I have always wanted to take, in my own Alaskan "backyard". Today we went out to Eklutna Lake in the morning and kayaked in the 70-80 degree weather! It was a gorgeous paddle, and one we plan to repeat many times this summer!

Independence Mine and Hatchers Pass

After living in Alaska for seventeen years, I was finally able to take the time to make the trek to Hatchers Pass and Independence Mine! I have been wanting to check the mine out for quite some time and wanted try my hand at photographing it.

Our friends were great tour guides for us, showing us a great spot in the pass after we explored the mine.
