Byron Glacier and 90 Degree Weather!

Monday was Dad's last day in town, so we all got off work and headed down to our favorite short hike, Byron Glacier in Portage Valley.  It was nice and sunny and HOT - in the upper 80s!

We were not able to get all the way to the glacier this time, but were able to play in the snow near enough.  We even had a snowball fight in June!

We also got a chance to see an avalanche on one of the ridges above us (but far enough away where it was safe for us).

After the hike we stopped at the Begich Boggs Visitors Center on Portage Lake.

It was a great last day with Dad, and the whole family.  On the way home, our car thermometer maxed out and said it was 92 degrees out!

Father's Day with my daddy!

With my mom in Alaska for the month of June, my dad flew up for a few days and was able to spend Father's Day with us.  We had a family BBQ in our back yard and had a great time in the 80-degree weather!  The whole time my folks have been here it has been sunny and HOT (for Alaska) - it has been wonderful!
