Memorial Day (Backyard) Campout

This year for Memorial Day weekend, our friends all wanted to go camping, but we knew it would be difficult to go somewhere to fit all of us. So what did we do? We decided to camp in our backyard!
During this time, there was a burn ban on, due to a very large forest fire on the Kenai Peninsula, but we made the most of it!

The next morning turned out to be a bit chilly (around 30 degrees!) - but we managed just fine.

It turned out to be a great time with our wonderful friends! What a fantastic kick-off to summer!

3rd of July Life Group BBQ

With our life group being on Wednesdays, we had a BBQ at our house on the 3rd of July this year.  We were finally able to use our big back yard for the purpose we bought the house for!  But even better, we were able to spend a great evening with all of our best friends! 

After years of owning a croquet set, we had a great game in our huge, flat yard!  Perfect for the sport!

We were concerned we would not be able to use our new fire pit, due to dry conditions, but the burn ban was lifted the day before.  We went through so much s'mores fixings!

The night ended perfectly with the group praying together - we are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group!

Father's Day with my daddy!

With my mom in Alaska for the month of June, my dad flew up for a few days and was able to spend Father's Day with us.  We had a family BBQ in our back yard and had a great time in the 80-degree weather!  The whole time my folks have been here it has been sunny and HOT (for Alaska) - it has been wonderful!
