Hiking in mid-April!

Spring came extra early this year, to the point of being able to go out and hike early on! In mid-April, our life group started "Friday Night Fitness", doing easy walks/hikes Friday evenings as a group to get active and enjoy the great weather. The inaugural hike was at the Eagle River Nature Center.

Back in Eagle River!

This summer we found our dream house on the market and decided to try to sell our house and go for our dream. Seven days later, our house had sold! So.. just a few weeks after that we packed up our first house in Chugiak and moved into Eagle River.

It was a whirlwind month, especially since we moved three days after I returned from a weekend trip to New York for my cousin's wedding. Now we are in a great home in Eagle River, with a bit more square footage.

Our fantastic life group helped us move, and we had a blast while doing it!

Time to fill 'er up!

South Fork Falls

This week we went on a short hike in our very own Eagle River to the South Fork Valley Trail to check out a great waterfall. The walk was quite buggy, but the waterfall at the end was worth it!

Upper South Fork

This Saturday a bunch of friends decided to hike the Upper South Fork trail in Eagle River.  The hike itself is rated "Easy" and it was, it was just double the length we thought it would be!  The weather was in the 60's with a few sprinkles, some sunshine, and lots of clouds.  This turned out to be great weather for hiking as we were not too hot.  We did not make it back to the lakes we wanted to reach (due to the longer trail and winds), but the hike was a great way to spend the afternoon!  All in all, we hiked 12 miles in 5+ hours!  It was so great to get out and enjoy the awesome summer we're having with our amazing friends.
