Twins go to SoCal! (Part 3 of 3)

Sunday morning we slept in and then drove back down to San Diego. After we returned the rental car, we Uber'd to Coronado Island and checked into the historic Hotel Del Coronado. It was much cooler on the island and a bit breezy, so we spent the afternoon at the pool and had dinner at a local pizza place.

Monday morning we had breakfast in the famous Crown Room and then headed out on a hop-on hop-off trolley tour.

Our first trolley stop was Old Town San Diego. We thought we'd just stop for a few minutes, and stayed for a few hours!

Monday evening Pampered Chef sponsored a Movie Night on the beach - we watched Top Gun!

The easiest shortcut to our room was through the pool - so we got some neat views of it!
Tuesday was quite cool, so we lounged around the hotel and had breakfast outdoors.

Wednesday was our last full day at The Del, so we spent most of it at the pool. In the morning though, we walked the beach and saw that the story about glitter in the sand was true. We also saw a lot of sand dollars. They are purple and fuzzy when they are still alive!

That evening was Pampered Chef's group event. It was a retro beach bash.

They had a neat photo booth in a mini VW van

They had a great band

Thursday morning we had one more breakfast in the Crown Room, and then packed up and headed back to San Diego to fly home. It was another great Irresistible Destinations trip with Pampered Chef!

SoCal Travels and a Wedding!

Last week we traveled to Southern Califnoria for Andrew's cousin's wedding - it was a great trip! We spent most of the time in the San Diego/Carlsbad area and had great weather for it (in the 70s and 80s in October)!

We flew in Tuesday afternoon and spent the evening in the Carlsbad/Solana Beach area. We went to dinner at a great place called Fidel's and drove the Pacific Coast Highway there and back - it was beautiful, and the food was fantastic!

Wednesday was tourist day as we drove down to San Diego and checked out Belmont Park at Mission Beach and then Balboa Park in the city.

While at Belmont Park, we rode the Giant Dipper - the famous old wooden roller coaster on the boardwalk!

The iconic Botanical Building

Thursday we went to... Disneyland! It was a fantastic trip - see the separate post here.

Friday, we slept in and lazed about, recuperating from the long day before. We relaxed at the beach for awhile as well. We are both definitely used to the Atlantic and Gulf Coast beaches, so this was a nice change as we watch surfers while we were there. The Pacific is definitely colder!

Cold water!
We went in well before the high of the day - which was 85!

Saturday was the big day - Jenn and Erik's wedding! Since the wedding was not until 2pm, we spent the morning at the hotel pool, then we headed to Pelican Point for the wedding. The Point overlooked the beach on a bluff and the wedding was beautiful! The view perfectly complemented Jenn and Erik, and the food and family was fantastic. It was a clear, sunny day - not what they were expecting for an October wedding. The high was around 85 that day! I, being the smart one that I am, left my sunscreen in the car, and roasted that day, but it was well worth it celebrating with the newlyweds and their family and friends!

We got a table by the water (with a breeze!)
